Millie is 7 Months!

This is Millie telling me I've been slack on my blog posts.
I think she really means it.

She's been ready to show off how big she is.
"Look, I'm this big."

Along with being gigantic now, Millie does some new tricks. Her favorite is chewing on her hands or dress (or both).

We got a little off her immunization schedule when she was in the hospital, so she just went in for her 6 month check up.
I got a picture with her pediatrician, but I'm not sure if he'd appreciate me posting him on my blog so we'll just show Millie to be safe.

She almost looks chunky!

What's New:
1. As of one week ago Millie weighs 11 lbs 4 ounces. We were expecting her to be a little closer to 12 pounds, but her doctor seemed pleased with her progress. If she was born on her due date this would put her in the 10th-25th percentile.

2. I don't remember what Millie's head circumference was exactly, but she was in the 25th percentile. Also her doctor went on and on about how beautiful her head shape is. I think everyone in the NICU should give themselves a big pat on the back for working so hard on this little head.

3. Millie is still 23 inches tall. This puts her in the 5oth percentile! Originally the nurse at the doctors office told me Millie was in the 5th percentile, but I just looked for myself on the chart found here and I'm getting the 50th. Let me know if you get something different.

4. I got the go ahead to try Millie on some rice cereal if I'd like. I haven't tried yet, but that's because I keep forgetting to get it at the store. Maybe we should do that for family night tonight.

As our beloved nurse Pam would say, Millie is doing super! I attribute that to the wonderful health care she has received and her schedule we follow strictly. I would recommend putting your baby on a schedule to anyone. I use a babywise type program, and I love it. I know she's getting all the sleep she needs, and so am I!

One more thing...
Does anyone remember 3 years ago tomorrow?
If your name is Kathryn, Bekah, Lee Ann, Mary, Betsey, Tara, Ella, Lani, or you are in my family you might remember June 29th.
Buck and I celebrate being married for 3 years tomorrow! A lot can happen in 3 years, and I've loved sharing it all with my sweetheart.

For our anniversary we will be seeing Eclipse and going to the Cheesecake Factory while Mimi (my Mom) babysits Millie for the first time.

Here's to many more years (an eternity) of Mr. and Mrs. Buck Bagwell.

  1. Yay for Millie (and your anniversary)! She now weighs just barely over what Caleb weighs, but he's almost 2 inches longer! And she DOES have a great head shape! She doesn't even look like a preemie at all! Isn't our NICU staff amazing? What a perfect doll.
